Best Fishing Story: Over the years I've had many great experiences fishing. Some have been in tournaments and others fun fishing but some of the best have been with my family. One such instance I wasn't even fishing. We were all at our camp in the Belgrade Lakes Region in the summer of 2004. I got up early and got the old aluminum boat and all the gear we needed loaded on the trailer to bring it down to a small local pond. The boat was just big enough for the four of us. I told my wife that I was just going to let the kids fish because there wasn't enough room. At the time Chase was only eight years old and Cory was ten. Cory got up front and started fishing. I told Chase to stay in the back with me. It wasn't long and the kids started catching bass.

We hadn't even been on the water for 20 minutes when we came up on a big rock that was just below the surface of the water. I told Chase to make a cast over by the rock. True to form he did just that and what a good cast that was. The lure had just hit the water when I saw the line jump. Set the hook I said and the fight began. I still remember the look on his face when the line was spooling from the reel and the rod was doubled over. He had both hands on the rod and couldn't even reel. After a lengthy battle and some screaming I lipped his fish. We didn't not have a scale that day and had to go back to the camp for the camera. I have caught quite a few bass over 7 lbs and this was bigger than any bass that I had ever caught.
