Best Fishing Story: This past fish-off, I could not practice much, so I went on history, which was not panning out. After not getting a bite for 2 hours on day 2, I decided to go practicing. Before the event, my dad had talked with my uncle about a tournament he had fished on Long Lake around 20-25 years ago. He ran up the lake and got to his first spot. Once he decided to move the outboard would not start. He drifted down the lake with the trolling motor, back to the weigh-in. On the way he ran into a big group of hefty smallmouth, and ended up getting 2nd. My uncle told my dad a general area where he caught them, and my dad relayed this info. to me. I didn't go there until hitting about 5 spots on day two. Once I got there, on about my tenth cast, I landed a nice 3 pound smallmouth, then later caught another close to 4 pounds! I stayed in that area the rest of the day and ended up getting enough weight to qualify. This winter my uncle(Joseph Johndrow) passed away. I'll always remember the great times I had fishing with him.
